WHO WE ARE
The Shoreline League is a Summer Collegiate Baseball league operating out of Michigan and Ohio. Teams in the league are located in the following cities: Midland, Grand Rapids, Jackson, Livonia, Plymouth, Traverse City, Kalamazoo, Detroit, and Toledo (OH). Amateur players are from NAIA, NJCAA and NCAA-sanctioned colleges and universities. The league plays a compressed travel schedule between June and July. The league Championship will be between the teams with the Best Win % of the West vs East in a (1) 9 inning game. The winner of that game will be crowned Shoreline League Champions for that year.
The Shoreline League is an all-natural wood bat league (No composite or Baum Bats). The purpose of the league is to: (a) Provide family friendly, affordable baseball entertainment in the communities where our teams are located; (b) Provide a summer baseball program for eligible players to give them experience using a wood bat in a ultra competitive atmosphere.
TRAVEL
How teams travel is up to each individual team. Players car pool for most teams in the league. Players traveling to and from road games in their own vehicle is the norm. All teams in the league are within 2 hours from one another.
PLAYING SCHEDULE
The league schedule has been comprised of 4 game weekend series, starting the 1st week of June and ending the last weekend of July. Games are DH's on Saturday and Sunday (early afternoons: Noon/1pm starts) and typically one 9 inning game during the week (6pm start).
UMPIRES
The league connects with Assignors to provide Umpires for all league games.
ROSTERS
The Shoreline League rosters are 30 players max. However, tournament rosters are limited to 25 players. No more than four players from any one Division One (D1) school (the school attended in the spring immediately preceding the season) may play on the same team. By NCAA regulation, no NCAA players may play on a team in the summer in which personnel from their school (baseball coaches or otherwise) are associated. This only applies to a player who has been enrolled in the spring term prior to the summer season, and must still have college eligibility
INSURANCE
The Shoreline League does not carry secondary coverage accident and medical insurance. The player’s primary medical coverage comes from the family, and they must declare that coverage before becoming eligible to play in the Shoreline League. The Shoreline League does not pay deductibles from the player’s own policies. Shoreline League teams may carry their own secondary insurance.
